Mónica Jato is the creator of the project ‘A Boat Laden With…’. She lecturers in Spanish language and Spanish peninsular literature and culture at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her research interests lie in nineteenth- and twentieth-century Spanish literature, with a special interest in Spanish Republican exile texts.
Holly is a doctoral student in the University of Birmingham. Her research focusses on twentieth-century Spanish women’s literature, literature under Francoism, and gender studies. Her thesis concerns life writing by Spanish female political prisoners under Franco.
Ana María Izaskun Ruíz García
Ana Mari is the daughter of Cecilia Guilarte, the writer to whom we owe this project. She was born in México, where Guilarte lived in exile for many years. She now resides in Tolosa, The Basque Country, and is involved in the Republican group of Tolosa. She has written many articles about the life and work of her mother, and is excited to see the publication of the collection of articles ‘A Boat Laden With…’.
